    order of adverbials

    Dear teachers,

Would you please tell me in which order these adverbials should come and why?

    They discussed the question :

    in detail (manner)
    in class (place)
    after the exam (time)
    always / often. (frequency)

    a) Should the adverb of frequency always come before the verb? = "always / often discussed"?

    b) In this sentence which adverb should come first, the adverb of manner or the adverb of place?
"discussed the question in detail in class" or "discussed the question in class in detail"?

    Many thanks
    Hela

    Re: order of adverbials

    a) You could also use They discussed the question often.
    b) You could use both.
