    Which of these sentences is correct English? Any suggestions?

    1. As a Nobel laureate, he raised the heads of all Americans and made them well known all over the world.

    2. As a Nobel laureate, he held high the heads of all Americans and made them well known all over the world.

    They are both grammatically correct, but don't make much sense.


    Note that a better title would have been As a Nobel laureate...

    How can I say that he made Egyptians proud of him?

    There is an expression but I can't get it. Something related to the head.

    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
