    come to or go to?

    Hi,
Which sentence is correct and why?

    1. I am in Germany at present, and if I qualify for the doctoral degree then I will apply and go to Glasgow.
    2. I am in Germany at present, and if I qualify for the doctoral degree then I will apply and come to Glasgow.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Re: come to or go to?

The second is possible if the person you are writing to is in Glasgow. Otherwise, it's 'go'.
