    Verb + Object + To-Infinitive

    I have a sentence.

    She wants something to drink.

    something = direct object
    to drink = to-infinitive

    Does the "object" have priority over the "to-infinitive"? In other words do we need to use the object then after the to-infinitive? or are these two sentences the same? are they both grammatically correct?

    She wants something to drink.
    She wants to drink something.

    Re: Verb + Object + To-Infinitive

    Meanwhile a found a PDF and it says "want" takes this pattern (verb + object + to-infinitive)
    http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/worldserv..._infinitve.pdf

    But I'm still confused.

    Should I say?
    "He wants chocolate to eat"

    instead of
    "He wants to eat chocolate"?

    Both are correct.
