    late

    Teacher, is this sentence OK?

I am sorry for my late reply. Due to a change in my work schedule, it would be best for us to have lunch next month.

    Yes, those are fine.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
