Sometimes, I can't tell the usage of the definite articles.
The chef tastes the broth everyday. or The chef tastes broth everyday.>
He makes broth everyday and he taste it everyday.
But, each broth he makes is not the same broth.
So the definite article may not be used.
On the other hand, if he tastes a particular kind of broth everyday, we may be able to use the definite article.
I don't know whether what I'm thinking is right or not.
