    too much work

    Which are correct:

    1-In those days I was doing too much work to worry about such trivial matters.

    2-I had too much work to worry about such trivial matters.

    3-There was too much work to worry about such trivial matters.

    4-There were too many important things to worry about such trivial matters.


    The first two seem fine to me. The other two, less so. I think they would work if one said "there was too much work to do...", "there were too many important things to do ....". As they stand, I don't know if they are correct or not.
