What is the usage of 'get' here?!

    Hello Teachers,
I have some question on the using of 'get' in the following sentence:

"Hi, I am new here. Could you explain how to get copies made here in the library?
I am not able to find the matching meaning for the usage of 'get' in these dictionaries."

    Thanks for help.

In that use, "get" is a causative verb. It means "cause" copies to be made. A substitute causative verb would be "have" -- have copies made.

There is no need to write a new post to say "thank you". You should (and in this case you already did) click on the "Thank" button on a helpful post. That saves us all opening a new thread expecting to find a follow-up question or more information, only to find that it's just a "Thanks" post.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
