    My tutor replied to me that this semester is going great and it is very low key.

    What does this is very low key mean in this case?

    "Low key" usually means restrained or subdued; not intense. I am not certain how that relates to a semester. Could it mean that your courses are easy?

    "Low key" in this sentence could mean your tutor wasn't able to find a proper word to express what he was trying to say when he wrote it.

    I have no idea why you would suggest this.
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

    I read "low key" here as "uneventful."
