    to be guided?


    I would appreciate anyone who could help me with the following sentence.

    Specific language must be guided by the laws of
    the jurisdiction where the construction occurs.

    What is the context for it? It seems to be saying that something must be worded in compliance with the local law(s) in the area where the construction is taking place.

    You need to choose the language in the contract that is known to be "good" in terms of acceptance in prior legal actions in the courts where the contract is to be enforced.

    There may be specific language which is "tried and tested" in Ohio, but different language needs to be used if you are in California.

    That is what you pay lawyers for.
