    competing egos

    Hi,

I would like to know if the expression "competing egos" refer to something like an ancient fable? what does it mean?

Partly for this reason, municipal code offi cials are legendary for their ability to annoy and confound architects. It would be easy enough
to chalk up the history of difficult relationships to competing egos and a desire of each to reign supreme as master interpreter of the
code. In reality, though, the relationship is much more complex.

    Thanks.

It has nothing to do with ancient fables. Do you know what "ego" means?

In that case, what do you think "competing egos" might mean?
