    translated text vs text translated

    I'm translating an article on linguistics.

    Here's the sentence I need help with:

    The associative-conceptual field of concepts (i.e., constructs) does not normally expand in translation but, on the contrary, narrows; interlingual divergence mechanisms lead to the conceptual fragmentation of the translated text.

    This is quite a technically challenging job, but I just need someone to help me with the following items:

    1) Is it "narrows" or "narrows down"?
    2) Do I need to place "the" in front of "interlingual divergence mechanisms";
    3) Do I need "the" in front of "translated text";
    4) Should I say "translated text" or "text translated" (or even "(the) target text")? (how would it change the meaning?)

    I really need this. Thank you in advance.

    Re: translated text vs text translated

    1) Is it "narrows" or "narrows down"?

    In academic usage the simple "narrows" is better. "Narrows down" is more colloquial.

    2) Do I need to place "the" in front of "interlingual divergence mechanisms";

    Definitely not. That would be incorrect.

    3) Do I need "the" in front of "translated text";

    Yes.

    4) Should I say "translated text" or "text translated" (or even "(the) target text")? (how would it change the meaning?)

    This one is optional. My preference is "translated text." It sounds more natural to me. But "text translated" cannot be faulted.
