    transitive or intransitive?

    Hi, i 'd like to have an answer of how can we know if a verb is transitive or intransitive as i don't see it in dictionnary,ex : the verb write," I 'll write to you or I'll write you? "

    Have a look here: http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dict.../british/write It is clearly marked that there are both transitive and intransitive uses of "write".

    Everybody should bookmark OneLook.com, which searches dozens of free online dictionaries (click on the underlined link).

    One of them is sure to tell you whether a verb is transitive, intransitive or both. In this case, dictionary #1 tells you.
