will not call him up, waking his whole family

    Which are correct:
1-I will not call him up waking his whole family up in the middle of the night.

2-I will not call him up, waking his whole family up in the middle of the night.

3-I will not answer his calls making him come to my office.
4-I will not answer his calls, making him come to my office.
Meaning: I will not answer his calls and thereby will make him come to my office.

The only difference between 1 and 2 is the comma in 2, and the only difference between 3 and 4 is the comma in 4.
I do not like '3'. I think the other ones work.

    Gratefully,
    Navi.

Re: will not call him up, waking his whole family

"I will not call him in the middle of the night lest his whole family be waked."
    Is it acceptable?

#2 is about OK. I don't find any of the others very natural.

Do you mean "lest" should not be used in that sentence?
