Hello All,

This issue has bothered me for some time. Can I say, "this problem rises some questions." I am not sure about the verb "rise" used in this situation, though I have found it in many copies.

Thanks in advance,
Nyggus

Hello Nyggus

"rises" wouldn't be right here. You could say:

1. This problem gives rise to some interesting questions.
2. This problem raises some interesting questions.
3. Some interesting questions arise out of this problem.
