    in spite of/ despite

can you help me check and suggest me the correct ones. (I want : in spite of + V_ing/ n not : in spite of the fact that ...)
    1. It rained yesterday although the weather bureau predicted that the weather would be fine.
    - In spite of being predicted fine by the weather bureau, It rained yesterday
    2. Even though the keyboard wasn't working well, she finished typing the letter.
    - In spite of the bad keyboard, she finished typing the letter.
    Thank you very much

    Re: in spite of/ despite

    Hello.
    Please let me try.

    How about:

It rained yesterday in spite of/despite the prediction by the weather bureau that the weather would be fine.

    I believe it's grammatical, but I don't know if it's natural.

It's fine. You could also use the weather bureau's prediction. I actually prefer it to the version I gave, but Tanlam was asking for a sentence with predicting.
