    Smile Polish my English

Hello, I am Programmer Analyst working in an IT company in Ahmedabad. I have just started working and very soon I' ll be dealing with clients online. We here interact with different kinds of people from all over the world. I want to know how to begin a conversation with a specific client. As i said, I might be asked to deal with clients from different parts of the world, I would like to know how to begin a conversation to make a comfortable environment for me and my client to communicate. I don't want to jump directly on my subject, I would like to begin my conversation in such a way that the client feels easy and comfortable to talk, so that he could let me know his needs or changes in the project and also that I could understand them well...

    Pls help...

    Re: Polish my English

Are you initiating the conversation or are you responding to clients who "call in" online?

"Hello, my name is _____, how may I help you today?" is a good way to greet a client.

    Re: Polish my English

    Thanku for your reply,

Yes, it is like, I have to deal with an Australian client. I am given daily tasks and I am supposed to complete them. As of now only my Project Manager talks to him and I just complete the work and give it to my project manager. But very soon, I will be talking with client directly. So that will be my first talk with the client. I want to know how to start the conversation in such a way that he and me understand each other for explaining and understanding our tasks.

    Re: Polish my English

Why don't you tell him that although this is the first time you have spoken, you have been working on the technical side of the project for xxx time. This might reassure them that you know what's going on even though you are a stranger to them on the phone.
