Question What does "the flagged material" mean?

Hello, and I need your help on understanding the meaning of "the flagged material" in the
following article. It's on the 20th paragraph.
Does "flag" mean "something you need to be careful or cautious" in this case?
    And material means "data"?

    http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-26182642
"He likens it to the secret formula of Coca-Cola and Colonel Sanders' KFC
restaurants - but stresses that it is supported by hundreds of workers who sift
    through the flagged material."

    Thank you in advance.

To flag something is to mark it so that you or someone else will be able to find it again.

Re: What does "the flagged material" mean?

The system marks (flags) reviews that could be fake and then people have to look at them to check.

If you look at the bottom of each post here, you'll find a triangle with an exclamation mark. This is a way for users to mark suspicious posts. An alert is sent to moderators, who then check to see what's happening. This is flagging.
