If I say "I was drained dry of feelings", does that mean I was too exhausted or upset to have feelings? Is this expression commonly used? And what may be the situations when it's used?
"Emotionally drained" is the expression. Yes, when you have poured out all of your emotions and can no longer feel. Say someone you loved died and you spent days crying and being sad. At some point, you have cried all that you can.
Or you have romantic feelings for someone but that love is not returned. Eventually, you run out of feelings.
