    a growing church

At a time when women typically have had a narrow range of choices, Mary Baker Eddy became a distinguished writer and the founder, architect, and builder of a growing church.

Here does the word church mean Christian Science? And I found a sentence which also contains
“a growing church” from the website:
Please see: Harefield is a growing church with a heart for God and a passion for people. In the sentence,
church means a party? I feel that it seems hard to understand the meaning of church.

    Thanks for your help!!!
ps: A portrait of Mary Baker Eddy below.

    Re: a growing church

Definition 4 is the operative one here for Mary Baker Eddy.

Your other sentence is definition 5, one particular local group of Christians.
