    apostrophe

Is this sentence OK? I am not sure if I could use two "s" in the same sentence.

John said she lost William's driver's licence.

    Re: apostrophe

    Totally fine.
It gets silly when you have three or more (maybe 3 is the maximum), but it's still okay grammar, just odd style. Mary's aunt's friend's coffee cake is the best I've ever tasted.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

    Re: apostrophe

In BrE we tend to say "William's driving licence". We usually call it a driving licence rather than a driver's licence.
