I was wondering if you'd kindly help me with this sentence :
"One person can change your life and that person is ..."

What should I put in the blank "you" or "yourself"?!

Thanks:)

you should put 'you'

I am sure that. But I may be obliged to say that I am not a teacher.

Please put in correct information for your member profile.

I doubt you grew up in Andorra speaking Arabic and now live in Samoa. Maybe I am wrong.

You should put 'you'.

I am sure about that. [strike]But[/strike] I [strike]may be[/strike] am obliged to say that I am not a teacher.

You are right that the correct answer is "you". You are also correct that you should state at the beginning of a post in which you try to help another learner that you are not a teacher.

What I don't think is correct is your profile. You have stated that you are a native Arabic speaker whose home country is Andorra and whose current location is American Samoa. I've never come across an Andorran whose native language is Arabic and standard computer software shows that you are certainly not in American Samoa. Please take the time to enter correct information in your profile before making any more posts. Thank you.

What should I put in the blank - "you" or "yourself"? [strike]![/strike] One single appropriate punctuation mark is sufficient.

Thanks. :)

As you now know, the correct word is "you". There is a very annoying trend these days towards using "myself/yourself" etc when it is completely inappropriate. Some people seem to think it makes them sound more intelligent/educated/formal.
