    engaging in

Is the following wording natural and acceptable?

I have enjoyed the activities of drawing, reading and writing for many years. Maybe I have a talent for engaging in these artistic creations. My friends admire my artworks, such as paintings, sketches, and elegant essays. They encourage me to be a painter, an illustrator, or a novelist in the future.

    Re: engaging in

It's not too bad, but I offer these changes:

I have enjoyed drawing, reading and writing for many years. Maybe I have a talent for artistic creations. My friends admire my artwork, such as paintings and sketches, and elegant essays. They encourage me to be a painter, an illustrator, or a novelist in the future.
