    the april

Is the usage of the definite article correct?

The April 2000, an American investor and business man published his book.

I thought it might be better without the article, but because I'm supposed to correct it I was wondering if it is a mistake or if it's fine as it is.

    Thank you

    It's incorrect. Try "In April..."
