This cream is red tinted.

Is it also correct to say- "It is tinted red"?

Yes. I would hyphenate 'red-tinted.'

In what context can we use what? You suggested "The cream is red-tinted" and Raymott told you that was correct. He added that "The cream is tinted red" is also possible.

I imagine the context is something like a person with a thick application of lipstick kissing a bowl of cream, stirring the cream and commenting on the result.
