    Sharp Scrutiny

    I found some ambiguity here:

"A group of employees in G.M.ís investment management division in New York, where top earners make $2 million to $3 million a year, are coming under sharp scrutiny by the Obama administrationís pay czar, Kenneth Feinberg. "

What is "sharp scrutiny"? Is it "focused scrutiny"?

More along the lines of "intense".
