I think I may have been 999,999!
I bet we get the second million much faster than the first one! Let's take bets on when that will be.
BINGO
A few moments ago, the one millionth post appeared on UsingEnglish.com.
Congratulations to Tdol and Red5 who started the whole thing off in November 2002 and who have kept it going so successfully, and to the many members – more than 400,000 over the years - who have helped and been helped here.
Here’s to the next million.

I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
I wonder how many members are still around from the start. I think that MikeNewYork registered on the first day. Congratulations on your forum-longevity, Mike. Is there anybody else?
Fantastic achievement. Thanks to everyone who makes this forum what it is - to the teachers, mods, native speakers and near-fluent non-natives who volunteer their time to help people struggling with this infuriating language and to the learners who ask intelligent, well-thought-through questions, follow the rules and policies of the forum and who show a constant and impressive enthusiasm to learn.

Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
I want to add my congratulations to Red5 and Tdol. Many ESL forums have disappeared through the years, but this one has motored right along. These two men had a vision and it appears that their vision was correct. Long live UE!![]()
