    travel aborad

Are the following sentences grammatically correct?

    1. Last summer vacation, my parents took me to Phuket Island, Thailand for a 5-day vacation with their friends.
    2. It was my first time traveling abroad and taking a plane, and I was so excited about it.

    Re: travel aborad

In the first, I would drop the first "vacation".

    Then, they are both fine.
