How and when to use the word last and remained.

Im bit of confused about how and when to use the word last, remained. Let say I have a list of files on my computer and when I delete each file at a time and reach the last file to delete how do I make the sentence concise? Do I mention it as Last remained file or just last file or the file that remains need to be deleted. Thanx in advance.

You could call it the "last remaining file." Or simply the "last file."

    How about:

Delete the files one at a time until you reach the last one.
