1. Some of them are happy about it. (v) :tick:

2. Some of the apple is rotten. (v) :tick: But that would be odd if one were talking about an individual apple.

3. Any of them is happy about it. -> ? :cross:

4. Any of the apple is rotten -> ? :cross:

5. Any of the water is spilled. ->? :cross:

6. None of them are happy. -> ? :tick: Some people would argue for "is" as a verb.

7. None of the apple is rotten. -> :tick: Again, this would be odd if one were talking about an individual apple.

8. None of the water is spilled. -> ? :tick:

9. All of the apple is rotten -> ? :tick: Again, this would be odd if one were talking about an individual apple.

10. All of the apples are rotten (v) :tick:

11. All of the paper is wet (v) :tick:

My notes about "apple" stem from the idea that we would consider an apple to be rotten if any part of it were rotten. If you have cut-up apple pieces in a bowl, one might evaluate the pieces individually.
