    get/read/see a text

    Hi there!

    In English, should I say,
"What would you do if you got a text from a stranger saying he was going to kill you?"
    or
"What would you do if you saw a text from a stranger saying he was going to kill you?"
If I mean if a strange texted you that message, and I want to know what you'd do.

I think saying 'got' is more accurate, because you have to receive it first to see it.
Unless it is like you accidentally seeing somebody's text messages that was not meant for you to see.

I think both got and saw are fine here. But read is a bit too serious.

    Do you agree?
    Thank you.

I would use "got" to make it clear that I meant "received". You can "see" a text message on someone else's phone.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

So far, you have one AmE speaker and one BrE speaker for "got". I will add another AmE speaker for "got'.
