    No, excitement is always a noun. Something is fun because it is enjoyable. Something is exciting because it is stimulating. The word excitement does not describe things. Instead, it is something. Example:
    • There was a lot of excitement surrounding the event.

    Excitement is a state of being. The word exciting is used to suggest that which produces excitement.
