    "Low-level" mistakes?

    Hi everyone,

    If someone makes mistakes by spelling simple words such as "apple" wrongly, can I say they are making "low-level" mistakes?Thank you!

    "Basic mistakes" seems more likely.
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
