"get out there in public, and let people know you"

    Hi,

Is there a phrase for the meaning "get out there in public, and let people know you". I have heard the phrase"go public". Does that fit this meaning?

    Thank you

For example, "You should not always hide among people or in the crowd. You should (get out there in public, and let people know you)......"
    What phrase fits in here?

Depending on context, one could say:

    go for it
    stand out from the crowd
    make yourself known
    rise to the occasion
    show them what you've got

    I am not a teacher.

"To go public" has two main meanings, neither of which is what you want.

It is used in business when a company "goes public" and becomes a public company, with publicly quoted share values and so on.

When applied to people it carries with it an element of revealing something private, like a secret.
