I would like to ask the use of 'place'.

    How are you?

Can I use "place" instead of "apply" in the below sentence?
    Does it sound fine?

"You can applythis coconut oil directly on the skin."

    Thank you in advance

I don't like 'place' oil on the skin.

'Apply' includes the usually necessary process of rubbing the oil into the skin.

Actually, I got the question backwards. I prefer "apply" also.
