    Talking to my son about the post office, I say to him:

    "Notice how this post office is smaller, so you won't have to wait longer."

    VS

    "Notice how this post office is smaller, so you won't have to wait in line for longer."


    Can this be said?

    I can't see how the size of the post office affects the length of the wait.

    It's the number of customers ahead of you in the queue and the number of windows open that decide that.
