When shall we use 'nervous' in a sentence?

    Dear teachers,

I am writing a diary for the things happened a few days back:

'I forgot to bring my school books to the lecture, and that made me so nervous that I ran into Jan.
We both fell onto the ground.' (Jan is one of my best friends in school.)

Is it alright to use nervous in my diary?
or are there any other better words to replace 'nervous' in my diary?

    Please help, teacher.

    Thank you

    Kitty

You can use any words or non-words you like in your diary, unless you intend to publish it.
But, yes, 'nervous' is an appropiate word for that context.

    Hello.

    I think 'upset' works, too.

I think you should know that "ran into" has more than one meaning. One is literal (physical collision); the other is idiomatic (chance encounter).
