    Articles and punctuation

Hi everyone! Help me, please, with the articles here and with punctuation.

"On the basis of this analysis the author introduces a draft of the lesson for teaching English to the beginners".

Do I need comma after "on the basis of this analysis"?

What articles would be appropriate here "a draft of the lesson" or "the draft pf the lesson" or "a draft of a lesson"? And can I use "the" with "beginners"?

    Thank you very much!

Not a teacher nor a native speaker.

I think you used articles correctly. Let's see what native speakers will say.
Please, correct all my mistakes. I should know English perfectly and if you show me my mistakes I will achieve my dream a little bit faster. A lot of thanks.

    Re: Articles and punctuation

I would put a comma after "analysis". I wouldn't use the article before "beginners". I would probably use "a lesson" unless everyone already knows what lesson we're talking about.

I would probably reword it like this:

On the basis of this analysis, the author introduces a draft lesson for teaching English to beginners.
    or
On the basis of this analysis, the author introduces a draft English lesson for teaching beginners.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

If we're talking about "beginners" as a group of people, we should use a definete article. Am I wrong?

    Re: Articles and punctuation

I suppose if it is a particular group of beginners we can use the definite article. In general, only those groups of people defined by an adjective like "the rich" or "the disabled" can have "the" before the adjective. But if speaking about nouns, we do not use "the" before "people", "children", "dogs" unless we are refering to a particular group people, children or dogs. Am I right?

    Re: Articles and punctuation

Unless "beginners" refers to a particular group of beginners, I would not use an article.
