    form the age of five

    Are these sentences correct:
1-I had played the piano from the age of five.
2-I have played the piano from the age of five.

I think one generally uses 'since' with the perfect tenses, but I think I have heard people use 'from the age of...' with those tenses.

    Gratefully,
    Navi.

Re: form the age of five

If you still play the piano, use "have". If you no longer play, use "had".

I had played the piano from the age of five but when I hit twelve, I decided to swap to the cello.
I have played the piano from the age of five.

Note that with the second, I would actually say "I have played the piano since I was five".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
