Can you please check if the prepositions are correct in the following sentences?

    1. Read the first paragraph on your hanout.
    2. Read the first text in your textbook.
    3. Write the answer on your handout.
    4. Write the answer on your textbook.

    1. Read the first paragraph on your handout. I would use "in".
    2. Read the first text in your textbook. I would use paragraph/item/passage in stead of text.
    3. Write the answer on your handout.
    4. Write the answer on your textbook. I would never encourage students to write things in or on textbooks.

With the handout, it would depend on what the handout consisted of. If it's a booklet, I'd say you write in it. If it's one single sheet of paper, then I'd say you write on it.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
