Is it decent to say "...extreme measures as to..."

Hi everybody. I’m just wondering if sentence 1 is correct and suitable for an Academic writing?
In fact, I want to know if this expression “measures as to” is correct and decent for academic writing. What about the second sentence?

    1. Scientist are taking extreme measures as to study animals who genetically resemble humans.
    2. Scientist are taking extreme measures as to study animals who are genetically resemble humans.

    Thanks.

Decent means not offensive to morals. If you mean to ask if your phrase is correct, then no, it is not. Drop the 'as' and it may work, but is not a very eloquent usage. Note that we say 'scientists are' not 'is.'

    1. Scientists are taking extreme measures so as to study animals who genetically resemble humans.
    2. Scientists are taking extreme measures so as to study animals who are genetically resemble humans.

The correct form is Scientists. I did two mistakes while typing!

Scientists are very interested in studying animals who have a genetic makeup similar to humans.
