    What is the difference between

    1) I would rather go home now.
    2) I had better go home now.

    1. I would prefer to go home now.
    2. It would be a good idea if I went home now (rather than going home later OR rather than doing something else now).
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    In 1) you would prefer to go home. In 2) there is some reason why you should go home.
