Troubles understanding this paragraph

I'd be very thankful if someone would paraphrase this passage! Although I understand the general message of the text (we must not be rigid, but broken and contrite (melted) in spirit so that God could transform us), I don't understand what these bold words mean respectively (in this context).

"Only melted gold is minted. Only moistened clay receives the mold. Only
softened wax receives the seal. Only broken, contrite hearts receive the
mark as the Potter turns us on His wheel, shaped and burnt to make the
heavenly mark, the mold of God’s pure gold."

Seal Metal object with an engraved image, often a ring, used to seal formal documents (and letters, once)

Potter's mark Emblem carved or stamped in clay before it dries.

Shouldn't that be the meaning of the word seal in the given context? But still I don't get what it's about in this sentence: "Only

It's a very odd sentence structure. Think of it as "you can only apply A seal to soft wax" or "you can only mint melted gold."

And could it also read: "Only if the wax is softened, it can become a seal" ?
