    I'm confused about dictation

Our teacher told us that dictation was one of the best ways to improve our listening skill. But I was confused about it.Does it really help?If not, which way would be better? Thanks a lot.

    Don't you believe your teacher?
Please, correct all my mistakes. I should know English perfectly and if you show me my mistakes I will achieve my dream a little bit faster. A lot of thanks.

Not a teacher nor a native speaker.

    Re: I'm confused about dictation

I think dictation is a great way to find out what you can do. It uses listening and then tests your spelling, grammar and vocabulary, especially since not all words are spelled how they sound.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

If you have internet access, there's plenty of listening you can do to practise.
