vertical or horizontal (when taking a picture)

Someone asked me to take a picture of her.

I wanted to ask "Do you want it to be vertical or horizontal?" but I was not sure if it was correct English.

Please tell me if there are better ways to say it. Thank you!

Re: vertical or horizontal (when taking a picture)

The current equivalents are "portrait" and "landscape". In portrait the vertical dimension is greater, and in landscape the horizontal.

Re: vertical or horizontal (when taking a picture)

"Do you want it [to be] vertical or horizontal?"
Or demonstrate: "Do you want it this way or this way".
