    past perfect

    Hiya,

I know the rules when and how to use the past perfect. But I have a problem deciding whether the following sentence requires a past perfect or not because the usual simple past in the second part is missing and is replaced by a general statement:

"I do my homework every day after I had been/ have been outside."

Could past perfect be used here or does it need to be another tense?

    Thanks!

    Re: past perfect

I do my homework every day after I have been outside.
I do my homework every day after going outside (to play).

The past perfect does not work.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

I do my homework after I have been outside.

(When I was a schoolboy) I did my homework after I had been outside.
