    Re: Tom studied last night.

    Not a teacher.

The second one means that someone/something has studied Tom last night.

Tom might be a patient studied by doctors last night.

    Re: Tom studied last night.

You'd probably say that Tom was examined by doctors last night.

With the original question, the first is correct. The second is unlikely to be correct in most contexts.

Is it possible that Tom was studied by medical students last night?

Not a teacher nor a native speaker.
That sounds quite strange to me. I'd avoid it.
Please, correct all my mistakes. I should know English perfectly and if you show me my mistakes I will achieve my dream a little bit faster. A lot of thanks.

    Re: Tom studied last night.

    Maybe he meant :
"he was studying last night" he studied and is possibly still studying currently

    Just a guess.

    I'm not a teacher.

    Re: Tom studied last night.

Does the sentence "Tom was studied up" make any sense?

No. What did you think it might mean?
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

If he meant so, he should say "he has been studying since last night".
