How's work for you? Or does it have to be:

    Can you ask someone -

How's work for you? Or does it have to be:

    How's work going for you?

I have used the first one myself, in informal speech. Also "How's work going?" would be fine.
Please be aware that I'm neither a native English speaker nor a teacher.

I would not use the first one.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

I don't think it has to be the second, but the second does sound more natural to me.

Would a native speaker use the first?
