Question people who witnessed events first hand...?

    Hello Dear Teachers,

There are three types of sources: primary, secondary, and tertiary. Primary sources come from documents created by people who witnessed events first hand.
Which of the following meaning on the below link match the meaning of 'witness'?
    http://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/witness_2

    Thanks in advanced.

I am not sure I understand the question. All of the listings are meanings of "witness".

In the sense of the rest of the statement, I'd say either of the first two are the most relevant.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
