    Your original sentence is not correct. I haven't set the alarm. I didn't set the alarm.
    Did I set the alarm? Have I set the alarm? (Who would be able to answer this besides you?)
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
